Sequencing Facility
Lisa Bukovnik, M.S., directs the IGSP' s Sequencing and Genetic Analysis Facility. The facility has been in operation as a high-throughput "user friendly" core lab since January of 2000, supported initially by Duke Biology as a departmental resource. In 2005, the lab joined the IGSP as part of the Center for Evolutionary Genomics, with the sponsorship of Prof. Greg Wray.
The facility is currently open to any Duke researcher, as well as some clients outside Duke. Quick turn-around time and low cost are guaranteed since the lab normally does only the post-sequencing DTR and subsequent electrophoresis, on two ABI 3730 xl' s. Clients are expected to do their own cycle sequencing.
The IGSP Sequencing and Genetic Analysis Facility offers a number of other services, including customized robotic liquid handling methods, and is considered to be flexible and reliable. Please stop by for a visit any morning. Questions?
